Angelman Syndrome is a genetic disorder. Characteristic features of this condition include developmental delay, speech impairment, and problems with movement and balance (ataxia).
Angels have a happy demeanor and laugh easily. While Angels cannot speak, they do have much to say.
My 9 year old niece, Jade, has Angelman Syndrome. She is non-verbal but communicates beautifully using the American Sign Language (ASL) she is learning.
She is a very active child and loves playing at the park (especially the slide!) and going on rides at the amusement park. She enjoys going to school and likes doing homework.
